We collect your group from anywhere in the North Island (South of Auckland) and make our way to the King Country and ride across to Taranaki around in a loop, back to the start.


This itinerary takes in the Forgotten World Highway and backroads to the Taranaki Coast the Back through to the King Country.

Four days riding (plus a travel day to the start and return) and includes a mixture of sealed and gravel roads. We only graze civilisation, so will be fully self-sufficient during the tour.

Day 1 - Travel to start
Starting from Green Jersey's HQ or we will collect your group from anywhere between Wellington and Auckland in the North Island (subject to numbers) and transport you to Taumaranui , where we spend the night before starting the ride.

Day 2 - Forgotten World Highway (60km)
Ohura to Whangamomona is a quiet road, through rolling countryside. You will ride approximately 60km on a variety of surfaces and stay the night at the famous Whangamomona Hotel.

Day 3 - Whanagmomona to Wai-iti (70km)
We leave Whangamomona and ride across the saddles toward Stratford, but take a sneaky right turn onto Junction Road and enjoy some hilly sections through to Waitara and the Taranaki Coast. Stay at the lovely Beachhouse at Wai-iti

Day 4 - Kiwi Road Cresent (55km)
Back country Taranaki is something to behold. We depart our accommodation and head inland for the day. Kaka Road, Kiwi Road. The names give you an idea of what was…and is here! Stay at The Beachhouse at Wai-iti


Day 5 - Ahititi to Ohura (50km)

Our road takes us from the West Coast back into the central North Island on quiet country Roads. A 20km (return distance) diversion takes us to our lunch spot at Damper Falls. We ride out and return for an evening in Taumaranui, .

Day 6 - Drive home
