France 2020 - Bordeaux to Sete Cycle Tour

 A great opportunity to taste the pleasures of an extended ride under your own steam across historic French countryside! No noise, no traffic, no stress... just a gentle progression through French countryside and towns. Your kiwi hosts and Green Jersey cycling buddies add familiarity to the magic French countryside, and support your journey. We visit medieval cities; little changed from the Middle Ages. Dine at local restaurants that deservedly have international reputations. All you need to do is get to the start point. We will take care of the rest. Available 2019 tour dates:

About the ride 

Cycling days will range from 40 to 85km mostly off road on canal paths or purpose-built cycleways. The cycle path is an easy grade. There are rest and sightseeing days at Toulouse and Carcassonne. We have optional side trips to local villages and historic places which are additional kilometres. Some museums and attractions may charge entrance fees, which are at your own cost.

Day 1 Bordeaux to Courpiac (60 to 80km)

Day 2 Courpiac to Marande (65 km) 

Day 3 Marmande to Agen (80 to 100km) 

Day 4 Agen to Moissac (40 to 60km) 

Day 5 Moissac to Grenade (48 to 76km) 

Day 6 Grenade to Toulouse (50 km) 

Day 7 Sightseeing in Toulouse (0km) 

Day 8 Toulouse to Villefranche-de-Lauragais (55km) 

Day 9 Villefranche-de-Lauragais to Castlenaudary (31 to 50km) 

Day 10 Castlenaudary to Carcassonne (49 to 60 km)

Day 11 Sightseeing in Carcassonne (0 km)

Day 12 Carcassonne to Homps (40 to 60 km)

Day 13 Homps to Capestang (50 to 60km) 

Day 14 Capestang to Villeneuve les Beziers (40 to 60 km)

Day 15 Villeneuve les Beziers to Sete - night in Sete (51 to 85 km)

Total cycling from 660 to 860 km depending on how many of the optional extra routes are undertaken – average day from 47 to 62 km per day.

• E-bike hire: Euro 180. 
• Supplementary nights in Bordeaux or Sète & Tours /Angers: (Bed & Breakfast) at a 2* hotel: 62 € per person per night  double twin rooms – includes breakfast - excludes evening meals and day bike hire
• Extra day bike hire Euro 30 per day E assist 50 euro per day

  The tour price includes
  

  • Standard hybrid bike & helmet hire and repatriation of bikes

  • Your transfers to the meeting place and from the finish point – both have airports/railway stations nearby

  • The cost of all lunches and 10 dinners are not included, unless the group agrees to purchase the all evening meals included supplement

  • All alcohol and other drinks

  • Travel Insurance (health/travel insurance is mandatory) – please ensure that you tell your insurer what you are doing and disclose any pre-existing conditions

  • The costs of any medical treatment required on tour

  • The costs of visits to any museums, monuments or other attractions while on tour

  • Additional travel or costs related to change in the programme due to bad weather or other unavoidable issues

  • Local Sim card or roaming costs

  • A link or form will be sent to you to complete all your booking information. Payment Payment must be by bank transfer to the Green Jersey bank account within 24 hours of invoicing. We cannot accept payment by credit card on this transaction. Payments are due

  • On confirmation of booking 30% of the full cost is due

  • The balance will be invoiced and is due on 15th April 2020 based on the ANZ buy Euro rate on the day

  • Full payment can be made at any time thus fixing the Euro to $NZ exchange rate at that date. Cancellation policy In the event that you cancel your tour Green Jersey will reimburse the entire sum paid for the tour, minus the following cancellation charges:

  • More than 60 days before departure: 5 % of the tour price

  • Between 60 and 31 days before departure: 15 % of the tour

  • Between 30 and 21 days: 35 % of the tour price

  • Between 20 and 14 days: 50 % of the tour price

  • Between 13 and 7 days: 75 % of the tour price

  • Less than 7 days before departure: 100 % of the tour price You should ensure that your travel insurance covers unforeseen need to cancel.
